Analysis

Deletion of Information:  If data has been accidentally deleted or if data was corrupted or made inaccessible due to system/software problems, our specialists will provide analysis and recovery solutions on the missing files and directories. If issues exist involving intentional deletions, our specialists will analyze the data structures on the computer system to determine if the data loss was the act of malicious or intentional deletion by a user or a disgruntled employee, and subsequently provide for the recovery of the lost data.

When, where and how was the data lost?  Forensics IT will provide answers to key questions that you have concerning the loss (and recovery) of your valuable and confidential data. If required, Forensics IT will locate the evidence necessary to prove and convict wrongful acts.

Web Activity:  More often than not, it is possible to recreate web pages that have been visited on a suspects’ computer for analysis and review.  For ongoing investigations, Forensics IT can setup web tracking to:

  • Track inappropriate web site visits.

  • Track excessive internet use.

  • Track inappropriate internet e-mails.

Internet Download/Upload:  As with web activity, it is also possible at times to locate files that have been downloaded from the web to a suspects’ computer.  For ongoing investigations, Forensics IT can setup web tracking to:

  • Track inappropriate file downloads and uploads.

  • Track intelligent data/property theft or distribution.

  • Instant Messaging tracking and Monitoring.

Data Discovery:  During the course of a forensic recovery and investigation, searches against various types of data pertaining to defined criteria can be performed.  An in-depth analysis of discovered data is performed to determine if it meets certain case specific criteria or if it meets the ‘common sense’ criteria.  Typically, reviewing the details of internal file information and location helps determine the activities of that file.

Hard Drive Analysis:  Forensics IT offers expert analysis of hard drive use and abuse. Accidental data loss happens to the best of us and if action is taken promptly thereafter, the hard drive can be analyzed for recovery success.  Intentional data loss can be the result of malicious acts including:

  • Re-imaging

  • Re-formatting

  • Partitioning

Forensics IT will provide the necessary analysis and recovery techniques to re-build the data structures and restore all recoverable data files and folders.
